Who We Are
Traymark Junior Dance Club held its first classes on Saturday 30th August 1986 with 30 pupils in attendance.
Today Traymark holds weekly medal classes for both boys and girls aged 4 - 18 years in Latin American, Ballroom, Freestyle (Solo, Pairs, Trios and Teams), Boys Fun Freestyle, Rock 'n' Roll and Salsa. During our popular General Dance Sessions pupils of all ages meet together to participate in both up-to-date and traditional fun party, pop and trend dances.
Classes are paid on a week by week basis.
Due to Covid-19 classes have been restructured into new 'Covid Secure Dance Workshops'. Lessons continue subject to Government Guidelines.
Traymark has the feel of an extended family. The advanced pupils are encouraged to mentor the younger and less experienced dancers. Many of our past members stay in contact, returning to help out at Medal Tests and Presentation Days. We are also proud to say we are now teaching second generation pupils!
There is an emphasis placed on high teaching standards, to show respect to others and promote kindness and inclusion.

Progressing Through the Medal System
After completing the Rosette Awards, Traymark pupils can progress onto the One Dance Awards in Latin American, Ballroom, and Freestyle (Solo, Pairs, Trios and Teams). The dances are selected by the teacher.
Further classes progress onto levels Bronze, Double Bronze, Silver, Double Silver and Gold. The tuition for these medals is taken in small class groups. Advanced pupils are encouraged to take the Double Awards in Latin American and Ballroom to enable them to dance as both boy and girl.
In the Freestyle and Rock’n’Roll branches, advanced pupils may continue onto Gold Bars 1-3, Gold Stars 1-5, Presidents Awards 1-4, International Awards 1-4 and International Supreme Awards 1-4 during Advanced Freestyle or Rock’n’Roll classes.
Training in Latin American, Ballroom and Salsa to these advanced level medals and awards may be taken in private lessons.
Medal Test days are held twice a year in March and November. Pupils dance before an examiner from the International Dance Teachers Association. Successful candidates receive an IDTA award and certificate.
